Here are a few pictures of the quilts that I made this year before starting the blog. You will find more detailed pictures on my Flickr page!

My first Quilt:
I attended a patchwork class in Tikkis quilting shop in West-London, where I learned how to cut the fabric accurately and how to piece the blocks together. I can only recommend to visit the shop, as they do have a big choice of lovely quilting fabrics!

It happened there that I fell in love with patch-working and quilting. What I like most about quilting is that you don't have to be perfect in your techniques and even a beginner can obtain amazing results!

I love pink :)

I quilted little interconnected hearts into the blocks and clovers into the sashing.

Striped binding.

Mannequin quilt:
I saw the pink fabric with mannequins on sale and had to buy it. But the problem was, I had no idea what I could make with it. I mean I knew it would be a quilt, but I did not know how the quilt blocks would look. And I was also unsure what other patterns/colours would be nice to accompany the busy pink fabric. In the end I paired it with green, yellow and red fabrics, which I think is nice. When I was at the quilting stage, unluckily, I decided to free-motion quilt a complicated flower pattern. You can't imagine how many hours (and nerves) it took me to finish that quilt. The thread was breaking all the time.

The quilt is now hanging on the wall next to my sewing machine. I couldn't think of a better place to put all these little mannequins :)

I love the striped binding!

Baby Quilt:

I made this quilt for my pen pales baby -obviously a girl- and when she came over to visit me, I gave it to her. I love the fabric: birds, owls, ducks and a little girl on a swing :) I only quilted straight lines with my walking food.

Cushion covers:  
These cushion covers were a present for my sister. I found the umbrella block Quilt Janes blog and just loved it. I actually quilted the space around the umbrella with little rain drops. And I added my first piping :) I made the Dresden plate (or flower/ sun as I like to call it) following a tutorial from Craftsy (there is a free Craftsy class, where you learn to make loads of different blocks) and I actually quilted the word sun around it - you can barely see it in the green sashing.

Table runner:

I love table runners and made this one with gathers following a tutorial from Polka Dot Chairs. One of the fabrics was really stiff (I think it was a curtain fabric) and I struggled a lot to gather it. But I think it has been worthwhile. I quilted little clovers and bees on the sashing.
